90 minutes from Glory

   THE ROAD TO RIO
It's been over three weeks of exciting football actions in Brazil with 32 countries drawn across the planet earth, vying for it's most prestigious tournament.Boys have been separated from Men,hearts broken, records shattered, tempers ran....Alas! The Brazil2014 WORLD CUP will finally come to an end where the final showpiece stages two teams that have been tipped amongst many as the  tournament's favorite. The Argentines from south America and The European German machines, both teams have indeed been outstanding in the course of the tournament.

The Argentines came into the tournament with less attractions as eyes were fused on the defending champions,Spain and the hosts, Brazil as firm favorites as both teams were the finalist in the confederations cup. But with Leo Messi, they sure have something worth fancying. They kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 thumping of Bosnia Herzegovina, a narrow 1-0 win against Iran and and a thrilling 3-2 victory over Nigeria. With 9/9 points gathered at the group stage, many still didn't fancy the Messi inspired team. Up on their sleeves in the knock out stage was Switzerland, another 1-0 win was enough. Then came the "Dream" Belgian team whom many fancied for their young crop of players, but yet disappointed.1-0 (again) was the scoreline to progress to the last four. Here they had their major test of the tournament squaring it up against the Orange boys of Netherlands. After 120 minutes with no goals scored, penalties will decide and again Argentina won 4-2 to book their ticket to Rio. Two players have always starred for the Argentines,Messi and Di Maria. The latter got injured in their quarter final match, leaving Messi all alone in the wilderness of attack.Argentina can't afford to lose now, with Messi having this as the only major trophy he hasn't won, the time to win is NOW!

The 'machine made' men from Germany came into this competition as a major favorites as they ended third in the last campaign in South-Africa four years back. They started from where they stopped with a 4-0 bashing of a Cristiano Ronaldo led Portuguese side. Then they forced to a 2-2 draw by a hard fighting Ghana (the hardest they have had so far) before zooming past the USA in a game that saw the reunion of both coaches who were ones partners.(Klinsman was the coach of the Germans in 2006 with Joachim Low as his assistant). Up next was a very disciplined Algerian side that got their share of the German raid setting up an all European quarter finals with the Les Blues of France. They will breeze past France with a 1-0 win breaking the hearts of the free scoring French side.Waiting for them In the last four was the Selecao "Samba boys" of Brazil. They will spare them "no mercy" as they were thrashed 7-1,a record defeat in the competition to set up a final with their south American brothers. This indeed has really made Germany the fans favorite.
This is not the first meeting between both sides, but the "German machines" seem to have enjoyed two jolly rides, the last being a 4-0 thrashing of the Argentines in a quarter final match, four years ago.But this is a final and will be quite different ( I hope). With Muller and Messi both eyeing the Golden ball, their performance might tell a great deal.

In a wrap,  a quick reminder is that the Italian Referee that referred the 2002 final between Germany and Brazil with the latter clinching the tittle will again refer this years final. If the German history with this ref has any say in the outcome of this match, then Argentina might just be crowned champions but if Argentina must win, then it has to be Messi's day.

As Gaza burns down....

It's about five days now that ceaseless attacks have been unleashed onto the Gaza strip in Palestine. Over hundreds have been killed, mostly women and children. As I write, missiles are launched into Gaza almost every hour with every strike not going without casualties. By Allaah! My heart tears apart for Gaza. I came close to tears when cameras switched to the remains of a one year old girl, a victim of one of the Israeli air strikes. My Iftar turned sour,I couldn't bear it any longer. Why should Muslims be killed when they are fasting? Hardly does anyone hope of iftar after fajr(morning) sollah. In a five minute (live) report I saw on TV,nothing less than three explosions were heard at the background of the scene. Unfortunately, the world leaders haven't seen this as a Genocide. The Arab league is dumb founded, why then are they part of the United Nations? When our brothers and sisters are being killed and we can't do anything, what  then is their essence?
Hamas is a terror group and Israel is playing the defence fighter role, right? All of the Hamas's strikes has been inversely proportional to that of Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu has said he's defending the interest of Israelites and vowed not to stop striking. Whoever is terrorising who is left for you to conclude.
To the those that have lost their lives, May Allaah make Jannah their abode. And to the brave brothers and sisters who in spite of the killings stand firm with their Ramadhan fast and Taraawih,I pray Allaah reward you in manifolds. All we can but do is #PrayForGaza ,our Muslim brothers and sisters especially during our Iftar, that's the little we can offer.Let's play our parts to #SaveGaza #FreePalestine.I pray Allaah's rahmah descends on Palestine. Remember to #PrayForPalestine at Iftar.

Why The samba boys couldn't dance...

A bizarre night it was for the world cup hosts as they fail to reach the final in their third successive attempt.Their loss wasn't the issue, but the margin and manner goals were conceded were unbelievable. A loss that made analyst go back to the history books and draft out the fact that the samba boys last lost by six goals as far back as 1920 to Uruguay, their south american brothers.Yours sincerely, Brazil tonight was pathetic and I was really sympathetic towards them ( Even though I was backing the Europeans). But this lackluster performance wasn't far fetched. A lot was missing in the Brazilian team.....
First was  the absence of Neymar, the Brazilian star boy. Everyone knew how the team was built around him.He marshaled their attack from the start of the competition scoring four goals in the course of the competition .But his injury against Colombia, ruling him out of the competition marked the start of Luise fillipe scolari's head ache as there was no outright replacement for the star. Willian was being mentioned all around the cyber space but scolari opted for Bernard who took Oscar's position with the latter having to step into the void Neymar had created. Unfortunately, the little Bernard wasn't going to settle in quickly....so was his team mates. They were lively in the first few minutes creating chances that could have broken Germany's backbone but they lacked  finishing and would not play long before they get punished for that. Neymar was missed offensively.
The absence of their inspirational captain,Thiago Silva was another problem they didn't deal with. With Silver out, David Luiz was handed the captain's armband to lead the team on the field of play.A role, which for me was really burdensome for him to shoulder. After conceding the first goal through a sloppy defending, Luiz should have called his team mates to order ( especially Dante), regroup and not overlap too much. Instead, the lack of creativity in the middle of the pack saw likes of Luiz and even Micon, sometimes drift to midfield. Dante was not at the party at all, his pairing with David Luiz obviously was a flop. But as earlier said, Silva's absence paved way for the Bayern Munich man who, for me had the worst of performances. In short, Silva's absence exposed the weakness of this Brazilian side.
Another culprit was Fernadinho. The Manchester City man twice lost the ball in the build up to give the Germans control. He failed to justify the reason why he was preferred ahead of Paulinho, who will later come on as a second half substitute for him.Paulinho on the other hands was strong on the ball, had good control of it and was twice denied by the in form Manuel Neuer.
In the end, Irrespective of the nature of their loss,Brazil is still a force to recon with in world football. Records were broken for new ones to set, but the Brazilians heart were shattered. Now they have to look ahead to their final third place match on Saturday.Perhaps, Brazilians will have something to cheer about. For the Germans, There's no better time than now to lift the most prestigious cup in the world. You can't Annihilate the samba boys and lose to any other team. They are just 90mins(at least) away from realising their long sought dream.

THE NEW RECORDS

-Miroslav Klose became the new all time scorer at the world cup, surpassing Brazilian legend Ronaldo's 15goals with his second goal of the tournament.

- Brazil repeated their six nil loss, one they first ever suffered in the hands of Uruguay in 1920.

- Thomas Muller scored Germany's 2000th goal.

-Brazil is the first team to concede six goals in a world cup match.

10 Days don waka....

All praise thanks and adurations are due to Allaah alone, the cherisher and sustainer of the universe. May his peace and blessings be upon the best man that has ever walked the surface of this planet,Muhammad ibn  Abdallah, his households and companions till the day of Assembly. Aameen. Thereafter.......
Its been ten days (nine to some others) into the holy month of Ramadhan and Muslims across the spherical earth have been into series of spiritual uplift to explore the reward laddened month. From remembrance of Allaah ( Dhikir) to alms giving to abstinence from all forms of vices...even those guys that go about smoking w**d abstain from it during the day( even though they resort to it after iftar),this, to some extent depict how serious people take Allaah in Ramadhan (if only they did so before). I have decided to share some things I have noticed some people do which they do not know is affecting their fast (I didn't say their fast will not be accepted oh!)
Firstly,is the case of endless sleep during the day. Some people believe this will help them run time down before iftar so they do not feel too much hunger. This is a wrong assertion as it was the practice of the Rasul and his companions to multiply their Ibahda' during this period sleeping less(not even at nights) Now,I am not saying sleeping during the day in Ramadhan is prohibited. Rather, it is discouraged as the sleeping time is slipping away without any form of Adhkar being done.
Secondly, the act of watching "movies" is also a way some people run time out during Ramadhan. Some of come out in defence that the movies(some) are educational and enlightening and lessons are being learnt from them, but its unfortunate that this lessons are no forms of reward in the sight of Allaah. Infact, instaed of doing this, you had rather do the former.
Another practice is the abuse of Iftar. Just because you have not eaten for over 12-13hours does not mean you should eat all you have missed. Some are of the practice of eating too much making their bodies unfit for the Taraawih. Funny enough, some people would not go to the masjid until they are sure that the salatu-Taraawih is almost concluded. This is a lazy habit and should be stopped. If you are too tired, delay it till midnight. ( Which is even more rewarding)
Finally, it should be noted that Ramadhan is not just about abstaining from food and the likes, the purity of our intentions matters a lot as this is the bases of judging every action as stated by the rasul(s.a.w).In another hadith narrated by AbuHurayrah(R.A),the Rasul( s.a.w) said that anyone who fasts in the month of ramadhan with sincerity and hope of being rewarded by Allaah will have his past sins forgiven ( recorded by Bukhari and Muslim). Hence,as we head into the second phase of the holy month, let us do all good we can, who knows if its gonna be our last.We pray that Allaah (S.W.T) accept our righteous deeds an act of worship and make us better Muslims. Wasalaamualykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu!

N.B: Sorry it's very short.Just decided to KISS (keepn it short and simple) it up!

Cleaner than a Frost.

All praise, thanks and adorations are due to Allah the cherisher and sustainer of the Universe. May his peace and blessings be upon the soul of the noblest of mankind, Muhammad ibn Abdallah, his households, his companions, subsequent generations up until the day of Assembly. Thereafter, It's  with deep sadness I write this piece, one I should have done earlier than now but wasn't motivated to write. Seriously, I ain't happy....
Few weeks ago, Muslims across the globe marked the start to the ninth month of the lunar calendar,Ramadhan. A month in which Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk. A month that cleanses us of every filth we've carried about for the past eleven months. A month that has a night better than a thousand months. A month of maximum reward for every act of charity,no matter how little. A month bounty filled with blessings and mercy. A month of  spiritual growth. The blessings of Ramadhan are indeed countless. But unfortunately, this holy month will be ending......sooner than expected, Seriously. It's now up to each and every Muslim to draw a scorecard for themselves even though our rewards are determined by Allaah, we can always assess and grade ourselves. It is like the case of a student who wrote an exam, obviously he alone can tell what he expects(if he's sincere enough).
Nevertheless, We sure should now be cleansed of our sins and our scale of good deeds gaining more weights, that's if we have fasted with utmost piety and sincerity.Indeed, shaitan was chained and many  (if not all) avoided all forms of vices knowing that this is a month of piety. Verily,Ramadhan is a favour from Allaah! Who are we to deny it? Indeed,he's doomed! Whoever witnesses Ramadhan and never got forgiven by Allaah.
        As we look ahead to the next 48-weeks, it is incumbent on us to imbibe the virtues of Ramadhan. We should keep our sincerity at its peak as we have been doing for the past four weeks.Ramadhan has indeed come to teach us a lot of lessons;
The lesson of love and care,
The lesson of Sincerity and piety,
The lesson of Godliness and holiness
The lesson of Charity and Forgiveness
The lesson of Patience and Perseverance.....It is good we carry on with all these good qualities we've learnt in Ramadhan to make us not just better Muslims, but also good examples to those who believe anything negative is Islamic. By so doing, we will as well be good and happy inhabitants of our society. Stay Clean!!!
